Frequently asked questions about our tango courses
When is the day of arrival to the course, when is the day of departure?
Our courses usually take place one week, from Saturday to Saturday.
This means that the arrival to a course is possible on the first Saturday of the course from 4.30 pm.
On the following Saturday, the last day of the course, you should vacate your accommodation at 11.00 am.
When does the course begin or end?
The course program starts on the day of arrival (Saturday) with dinner at 8.00 pm.
The course program ends on the day of departure (Saturday) after breakfast at 10.00 am.
The first lesson usually takes place on the Sunday after the arrival day, after breakfast (breakfast from 9:00 am to 10:00 am) at 10:30 am.
The last lesson usually takes place on Friday before the departure day (Saturday) at 6.00 pm.
Should, in rare cases, the beginning or the end of the course deviate from this, because, for example, teachers do arrive later, or have to leave earlier, this is expressly announced in the course description on our website.
What are the exact times of the lessons?
Normally, one lesson of 1 ½ hours takes place twice a day.
1 ½ hours of lessons at 10.30 am, after breakfast and 1 ½ hours at 6.00 pm before dinner.
One day of the week, usually on Wednesday, no course takes place. This day is free for the students. Of course, on the day off we also offer breakfast and dinner.
Sometimes the groups change the times of the courses a bit, for example two hours after breakfast, and only one hour before dinner. However, at the beginning of the course, these changes are discussed individually in the respective group and jointly decided by course participants and course instructors.
In each course, however, regardless of the distribution of the lessons, there is a mandatory 15 hours of lessons.
"Despedida" - Farewell Party
At the end of each tango week we organize a little festa or take you to a Milonga in the vicinity. In this occasion we also invite our Tango friends from Perugia and surroundings.
By the way: If you would like to know about our guests’ experiences at La Rogaia please visit our guestbook and read a story about a Tango holiday at La Rogaia.
And what if I don't have a dance partner?
We only confirm bookings without a partner once we have found a suitable dance partner for you.
Therefore, we can initially only place you on a waiting list. As soon as a suitable dance partner becomes available, we will inform you and you can make a binding booking.
Of course, you can also look for a dance partner among your friends and family or online.
If you would like us to find a dance partner for you, we need the following information: your height, your age, how many years you have been dancing Argentine Tango, and your assessment of your skill level based on our course level descriptions on our website (Click Here).
If you book one of our available spots without a dance partner, you should be prepared for a "blind date," as it is usually not possible to meet your partner before the trip.
We do our best to find a suitable dance partner for you. However, we cannot guarantee that we find one and that this will be your prince or princess charming. Both are, as in the rest of life, rather difficult to find.
If no one signs up as a dance partner for you, we will try to find someone from our network of tango dancers to still make a wonderful tango holiday possible for you. However, the number of dancers who can step in is limited.
If necessary, we will also step in ourselves, provided we are available and have the time to do so.
If we cannot find one dance partner who can participate in every session, we reserve the right to offer different partners for each session (if we have to resort to local dancers these will step in as their schedules allow).
Therefore, we cannot guarantee that you will have only one partner for the entire course.
From a didactical perspective, this is usually even an advantage.
You generally learn faster with changing dance partners.
What we do guarantee, however, is that the dance level of the local dancers we provide for you is high enough that they can follow the respective sessions without major problems.
One more important thing: Please understand that La Rogaia is not a dating service.
The dancers we find for you are dance partners, nothing more and nothing less.
While some dancers have met at La Rogaia and stayed together as a couple, we cannot, as you will understand, guarantee that you will meet your life partner during your tango holiday at La Rogaia.
